The BSS Audio BLU-103 is a sophisticated networked signal processor designed for high-quality audio processing and conferencing applications. With a fixed configuration of 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, and a Voice over IP (VoIP) interface, the BLU-103 offers a versatile solution for environments that require seamless integration of analog and digital audio with VoIP capabilities. This device is ideal for conferencing systems, boardrooms, and other professional audio installations where reliable communication and audio clarity are paramount. The VoIP port enables the BLU-103 to interface with two VoIP lines, supporting SIP v2.0 or later, providing robust connectivity for modern communication networks.

The BLU-103 features dedicated Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) processing for up to 8 independent AEC algorithms, ensuring crystal-clear communication in conferencing environments. Each AEC algorithm can be applied to signals from either the local analog inputs or the digital audio bus, allowing the BLU-103 to handle multiple conferencing spaces with a single device. Additionally, Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Noise Cancellation (NC) are provided for each AEC algorithm, optimizing microphone levels and removing steady-state noise such as that from projectors or air conditioning systems.

This processor includes a 48-channel, low-latency, fault-tolerant digital audio bus that uses standard Category 5e cabling, enabling distances of up to 100 meters between compatible devices. Fiber media converters can extend this distance to over 40 kilometers, offering flexibility for large-scale installations. The BLU-103 is fully compatible with the entire Soundweb London family, and its 48-channel digital audio bus represents channels 1-48 of the larger 256-channel bus when integrated with other Soundweb London devices such as the BLU-806, BLU-805, BLU-800, BLU-326, BLU-325, BLU-320, BLU-160, BLU-120, BLU-BIB, and BLU-BOB, providing extensive scalability and integration possibilities.

The 8 analog inputs on the BLU-103 provide software-configurable gain in 6dB steps up to +48dB per channel, along with software-selectable phantom power. Clear front panel LED indicators offer immediate access to information about phantom power, signal presence, and clipping, ensuring quick and easy monitoring. The bi-directional locate function further simplifies device identification both from and within HiQnet Audio Architect, streamlining system management.

The BLU-103 also includes 12 control inputs and 6 logic outputs, enabling integration with GPIO-compatible devices for a broad range of automation and control options. The Soundweb London Interface Kit, included within the HiQnet Audio Architect installation, provides comprehensive documentation for integrating Soundweb London systems with third-party control systems. With its combination of VoIP integration, AEC capabilities, and versatile control options, the BLU-103 is an essential component for creating sophisticated, reliable, and high-performance audio systems in modern communication and conferencing environments.
