The BSS Audio BLU-BIB is an 8-channel analog break-in box designed to seamlessly expand audio input capabilities within the Soundweb London system. By connecting to the Soundweb London high bandwidth, fault-tolerant digital audio bus, the BLU-BIB allows for efficient and flexible integration of additional analog audio sources into your digital audio network. This compact and versatile expander is a valuable addition to any professional audio system, particularly in environments requiring scalable and high-quality audio input solutions.

The BLU-BIB features a robust 256-channel digital audio bus that operates over standard Category 5e cabling, allowing for connections up to 100 meters between compatible devices. For longer distances, the BSS Audio MC-1 fiber optic media converter can extend the connection range to over 10 kilometers using single-mode fiber, ensuring that even the largest installations can maintain reliable audio transmission.

Configuring the BLU-BIB is straightforward, thanks to the six DIP switches located on the rear panel, which allow for the selection of consecutive 8-channel ranges within the 256 available on the digital audio bus. Unlike other Soundweb London devices, the BLU-BIB is not configured via HiQnet Audio Architect; instead, channel assignments are made exclusively through the DIP switches. This streamlined configuration method ensures quick setup and ease of use.

Each of the 8 analog mic/line inputs utilizes standard terminal block connectors, providing compatibility with other Soundweb London devices. Front panel controls allow for easy adjustment of input gain and Phantom Power, with each channel's status clearly indicated by LEDs that display signal presence, clipping, and Phantom Power. Additionally, the BLU-BIB features three operational modes-Edit Mode, Normal Mode, and Stealth Mode-offering flexibility in both installation and usage scenarios. Edit Mode allows for adjustments to input gain and Phantom Power, while Normal Mode locks these settings to prevent tampering. Stealth Mode further ensures tamper-proof operation by disabling all LED indicators except for power, making the unit inconspicuous in dark environments.

The BLU-BIB's half-rack chassis can be easily mounted in a variety of locations, including racks, under tables, or on walls, using the included mounting brackets or an optional 1U rack-mount kit. Power is supplied by an included 12V DC adapter, ensuring reliable operation in a wide range of installations.

The BSS Audio BLU-BIB, along with the other members of the Soundweb London family, provides the building blocks for a perfectly tailored audio system, enabling scalable and high-performance audio solutions for diverse applications.
