The BSS Audio BLU-DAN is a versatile and robust BLU link to Dante bridge, designed to seamlessly integrate Dante/AES67 audio with the Soundweb London ecosystem. This device is particularly well-suited for life safety applications, as it is EN 54-16 compliant, ensuring reliable operation in critical environments. By connecting the BLU-DAN to one or more BLU link devices, users can easily add Dante/AES67 capabilities to their existing systems, expanding audio network flexibility and interoperability.
The BLU-DAN supports up to 64 channels of Dante or AES67 audio transmission and reception, with fault-tolerant primary and secondary ports ensuring continuous audio flow even in the event of a network issue. Control and monitoring are provided through a separate Ethernet port, which, together with Dante 4.0 firmware support, allows integration with Dante Domain Manager for enhanced network security and management.
In addition to its Dante/AES67 capabilities, the BLU-DAN features a 256-channel, low-latency BLU link digital audio bus. This bus uses standard Category 5e cabling, enabling connections up to 100 meters between compatible devices. For extended distances, fiber media converters can be used to achieve connections of over 40 kilometers, providing extensive coverage for large-scale installations.
Configuration and control of the BLU-DAN are made easy with HiQnet Audio Architect, which offers a drag-and-drop interface and a rich palette of logic objects. The device also supports bi-directional locate functionality, allowing users to identify the BLU-DAN both from and within HiQnet Audio Architect, simplifying system management. The clear front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual feedback on the device's status, further enhancing usability.
The BLU-DAN is housed in a 1RU, half-rack chassis, making it easy to integrate into existing rack configurations.
