The FBT Muse 218 SND is a high-performance, powered bass reflex subwoofer designed to deliver exceptional low-frequency extension and powerful output for professional sound reinforcement applications. Featuring dual 18-inch B&C woofers with 4-inch voice coils, this subwoofer offers remarkable excursion capabilities, ensuring deep, punchy bass and high SPL output with minimal distortion. Powered by a 4000W RMS Class D amplifier with a switch-mode power supply, the Muse 218 SND is capable of producing an impressive 148.5dB SPL peak, making it ideal for demanding applications such as live events, festivals, and large concert venues. With its extended frequency response down to 30Hz, the Muse 218 SND is perfectly suited to complement the Muse 210LND line array, enhancing the overall low-frequency performance in a ground-stack configuration.
The Muse 218 SND is engineered to provide flexible low-frequency control, featuring presets that allow for cardioid configurations. This enables certain subwoofers to face rearwards from the audience, acoustically canceling sound pressure behind the array and reducing SPL at the rear by over 15dB. This cardioid feature is especially useful for preventing unwanted low-frequency noise from affecting the rear of the venue or the surrounding environment. The subwoofer's enclosure is constructed from 18mm birch plywood, ensuring both durability and lightweight handling. The cabinet is finished with scratch-resistant black paint and features six integrated handles for easy transport. Additionally, a reinforced front mesh grille with protective fabric ensures the drivers are well-protected from physical damage during transport and use. For added mobility, the subwoofer can be equipped with optional 4-inch swivel-mount casters, allowing for easier transport across venues.
At the core of the Muse 218 SND is a new 4000W amplification module, which incorporates a TCP/IP network interface, enabling it to communicate seamlessly with FBT's "INFINITO System Management Suite" remote control software. The amplifier is compatible with the AES70 standard (OCA Alliance) and supports DANTE audio streaming at 24-bit, 48-96kHz over TCP/IP networks, ensuring high-quality, low-latency digital audio transmission. The built-in OLED display with an encoder provides intuitive onboard control for easy parameter adjustments, while a high-brightness blue front LED allows for quick remote identification of the unit, even in bright environments. The Muse 218 SND is built to provide robust and reliable performance, making it an excellent choice for high-output sub-bass reproduction in both ground-stack and cardioid configurations.
