The JBL Professional AM7200/64 is a high-power, mid-high frequency loudspeaker designed for professional audio installations. Part of JBL's AE Application Engineered Series, the AM7200/64 offers remarkable performance with precise pattern control, low distortion, and excellent arrayability, making it ideal for a wide range of fixed installation applications. Featuring JBL's CMCD (Cone Midrange Compression Driver) and 2432H high-frequency compression driver, this speaker is engineered to deliver outstanding clarity and high output. With a combination of an 8-inch midrange driver and a 1.5-inch exit high-frequency driver, the AM7200/64 provides excellent frequency response, low midrange distortion, and extended bandwidth, ensuring accurate sound reproduction over a wide frequency range.
The AM7200/64 is equipped with JBL's PT Progressive Transition waveguide, which offers controlled 60° by 40° coverage. The waveguide is rotatable, allowing for flexible cabinet positioning in either vertical or horizontal orientation. This feature allows users to customize the speaker's coverage to meet specific installation requirements. The waveguide's design ensures that distortion is minimized, while the high-slope crossover network reduces band overlap for smooth transitions between drivers. Additionally, the well-controlled off-axis response ensures that the AM7200/64 can be seamlessly integrated into arrays, providing consistent sound coverage even in challenging acoustic environments.
With a frequency range of 260 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB) and a frequency response of 330 Hz to 18 kHz (±3 dB), the AM7200/64 is capable of delivering high-output sound with excellent detail. The speaker's bi-amp/passive switchable crossover mode offers flexibility in various system configurations. In bi-amp mode, the speaker's maximum SPL reaches 133 dB-SPL continuous average (139 dB peak) for the midrange driver and 135 dB-SPL continuous average (141 dB peak) for the high-frequency driver, ensuring powerful and clear performance even in large spaces. The system sensitivity in passive mode is rated at 108 dB SPL (1W @ 1m), offering highly efficient sound reproduction.
The AM7200/64 features an enclosure made from 16 mm (5/8 in) exterior-grade Finnish birch plywood, providing a solid and robust structure for the internal components. The trapezoidal design, with 15-degree side angles, ensures optimal sound dispersion and easy integration into arrays. The enclosure is coated with JBL's durable DuraFlex finish, making it resistant to wear and tear in demanding environments. Additionally, the speaker is fitted with 13 M10 threaded suspension points, offering easy mounting and flexibility for various installation setups. The powder-coated 14-gauge perforated steel grille, backed with acoustically transparent foam, provides protection for the drivers while ensuring clear sound transmission.
The AM7200/64 is built to withstand environmental conditions, with an IP-X3 rating per IEC529, ensuring protection from water spray and dust. The speaker also meets Mil-Std 810 specifications, ensuring its durability in challenging environments. The speaker is equipped with both NL4 Neutrik Speakon and CE-compliant barrier strip terminals, allowing for secure connections with a variety of professional audio systems. The speaker's design includes a variety of optional accessories such as M10 x 35 mm forged shoulder eyebolts with washers and a U-Bracket MTU-3 for added installation flexibility.
