The JBL Professional CBT 1000 is a next-generation column loudspeaker that incorporates JBL's patented Constant Beamwidth Technology (CBT), making it an advanced solution for achieving precise and consistent vertical coverage. With its innovative beam-forming technology, the CBT 1000 is designed to deliver superior vertical sound distribution without the narrow vertical beaming and out-of-coverage lobing that typically occur with traditional column speakers. This results in a column loudspeaker that produces more even front-to-back SPL levels, making it ideal for a wide range of applications including sports facilities, stadiums, racetracks, fairgrounds, auditoriums, and other venues where high-quality sound coverage is required.

The CBT 1000 is engineered to provide an adjustable vertical coverage pattern, with four "Pattern Up" and four "Pattern Down" settings, offering a total of sixteen different vertical coverage combinations. These adjustments allow the speaker's vertical beamwidth to be customized to suit the room geometry, optimizing coverage and ensuring a more uniform SPL across the listening area. This flexibility eliminates the need for external DSP processing, making the CBT 1000 a highly versatile solution for various acoustic environments.

In addition to its adjustable vertical coverage, the CBT 1000 also features JBL's patent-pending Tapered Horizontal Waveguide, which provides continuously varying horizontal dispersion. The design ensures that the speaker delivers a very wide dispersion angle for short-throw distances, while narrowing the horizontal dispersion for long-throw applications, ensuring balanced coverage both in the front and rear corners of the room. This innovative waveguide design helps achieve consistent directivity from the highest frequencies to the lowest, making it ideal for environments that require precision sound coverage without sacrificing audio quality.

Inside the CBT 1000, you'll find a powerful combination of components. The speaker includes six 165 mm (6.5 in) high-excursion low-frequency drivers and twenty-four 25 mm (1 in) extra-high-power soft dome tweeters, arranged coaxially. This combination provides a frequency range from 55 Hz to 20 kHz, ensuring a full-bandwidth sound with rich bass and clear high frequencies. The low-frequency drivers are designed with Kevlar-reinforced cones and high-temperature voice coils to provide reliability and reduce distortion, while the high-frequency drivers feature a unique polymer diaphragm and fluid cooling for high output levels with low distortion.

For installations that demand high SPL output, the CBT 1000 is capable of delivering a maximum SPL of up to 137 dB peak, depending on the directivity settings, ensuring powerful sound coverage in large spaces. The speaker also provides switchable voicing modes, offering a flat response in music mode and a mid-range presence peak in speech mode, allowing the sound to be tailored to different types of content.

The CBT 1000 is built with a heavy-duty, rust-resistant, zinc-plated aluminum grille, ensuring durability even in outdoor installations. The grille is backed with high-quality foam and a tight-weave mesh, protecting the speaker from water and debris while maintaining clear sound reproduction. The speaker is also equipped with a removable locking 4-pin connector for secure wiring, and a strain relief system for two cables or flex conduits, making it easy to integrate into professional sound systems.

Designed for ease of installation, the CBT 1000 includes a swivel (pan) and tilt wall bracket for flexible mounting options. The bracket allows for precise aiming of the speaker to ensure optimal sound coverage in the desired area, whether it's a wide area or a focused zone. The speaker's compact size (40.2 in tall, 9.9 in wide) allows it to blend seamlessly with a wide range of architectural designs, making it a versatile and aesthetically pleasing addition to any environment.
