At the heart of the Control 12C/T-BK is a 76 mm (3-inch) full-range driver, featuring a polymer-coated aluminum cone, high-temperature voice coil, and a butyl rubber surround. These features allow the speaker to deliver deep, clear bass down to 68 Hz while maintaining high fidelity and low distortion across its frequency range. The driver's polypropylene cone provides resistance to water and humidity, ensuring reliability in a variety of environments. The speaker also incorporates a pure titanium dome tweeter with a cloth suspension, mounted on a low-diffraction swivel-mount for precise high-frequency control. This design reduces distortion and ensures smooth high-frequency extension, providing a consistent listening experience throughout the space.

Designed for versatile installation, the Control 12C/T-BK includes a blind-mount backcan for quick and easy ceiling installation. The compact backcan design extends only 138 mm (5.4 inches) behind the baffle, making it suitable for shallow ceiling areas. The speaker is also equipped with dual strain reliefs for secure cable or conduit connections. It supports both 8-ohm low-impedance operation and 70V/100V distributed loudspeaker systems, with a 15W multi-tap transformer for flexible system integration. The system also includes a removable locking 4-pin connector with screw-down terminals, accommodating wire sizes up to 12 AWG (2.5 mm2) for secure connections.

With a frequency response of 95 Hz to 15 kHz (±3 dB) and a nominal sensitivity of 84 dB, the Control 12C/T-BK can produce a maximum SPL of 103 dB peak at 1 meter. The speaker is designed to handle 40W continuous program power and 20W continuous pink noise power, ensuring reliable performance even in high-demand environments. The Control 12C/T-BK is also UL1480 and UL2043 listed, making it suitable for use in air-handling spaces, and it complies with RoHS, CE, and other international safety standards.
