The Control 85M features a 5.25-inch low-frequency driver with a polypropylene cone and polyurethane surround, designed for high power handling and superior moisture resistance. Paired with a 0.75-inch soft-dome high-frequency driver made of polyetherimide (PEI), the speaker delivers a full, rich sound across a wide frequency range, from 55 Hz to 18 kHz. The speaker uses JBL's high-quality 30W multi-tap transformer, which is compatible with 70V/100V distributed systems and can also operate at 8-ohm voice coil direct operation. It handles 80W continuous pink noise (160W program, 320W peak), making it capable of delivering robust performance even in high-energy sound environments.
