The JBL Professional PD6212/66 is a powerful, 300W passive 2-way horn-loaded loudspeaker that delivers exceptional performance in both indoor and outdoor environments. Designed with Precision Directivity technology, the PD6212/66 provides a 60° x 60° coverage pattern, ensuring optimal sound dispersion with excellent pattern control. This makes it ideal for both music and speech systems, as it can be used alone or paired with subwoofers for a full-range system with extended bandwidth. The speaker features a robust design suitable for various installation scenarios, offering versatility and high output capability, making it an excellent choice for professional sound reinforcement applications.
The PD6212/66 houses a 12-inch low-frequency driver, the M222-8A, which provides high sensitivity, low power compression, and high continuous SPL capability. The horn-loaded design of the low-frequency driver enhances its sensitivity and pattern control, ensuring a high level of performance even in challenging acoustic environments. The newly designed low-frequency phasing plug extends the frequency response, allowing for smoother transitions between the low and high-frequency drivers. Paired with the 2453H high-frequency compression driver, which utilizes a neodymium magnet and pure titanium diaphragm, the PD6212/66 achieves clear, intelligible high-frequency projection. This combination of drivers ensures that the speaker delivers an extended frequency range with minimal distortion, even at the highest drive levels.
The PD6212/66 uses large PT Progressive Transition waveguides to achieve optimal sound coverage and low distortion. The waveguides provide a well-controlled 60° x 60° coverage pattern and help to maintain a smooth frequency response across the entire operational band. The low- and high-frequency horns are rotatable, allowing the cabinet to be positioned either horizontally or vertically to suit the installation requirements. The high-slope passive crossover network minimizes band overlap, enhancing the off-axis response and ensuring smooth integration between the low and high-frequency drivers. Additionally, the speaker can be operated in either bi-amplified or full passive mode, offering flexibility for different system configurations.
In bi-amplified mode, the PD6212/66 achieves a maximum SPL of 135 dB-SPL continuous average (141 dB peak) for both low and high-frequency drivers. In passive mode, the speaker maintains a continuous SPL of 132 dB-SPL (138 dB peak). The system sensitivity is rated at 107 dB-SPL in passive mode, ensuring high efficiency and clear sound reproduction. The speaker is engineered for high-output applications, making it suitable for large venues, concerts, and other professional installations. The cabinet is constructed from 16 mm exterior-grade Finnish birch plywood and is finished in durable black DuraFlex coating, ensuring long-lasting durability and protection in demanding environments.
For easy installation, the PD6212/66 features 20 M10 threaded suspension points, providing a variety of mounting options. The speaker is equipped with Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors and CE-compliant barrier strip terminals, allowing for secure and reliable connections. Optional weather-resistant versions of the PD6212/66 are available, including the WRC version for sheltered outdoor use and the WRX version for extreme outdoor conditions such as those found in tropical environments or near the beach. The speaker is also designed to withstand environmental challenges, meeting MIL-Std 810 and IP-x3 ratings for protection against dust and water. However, for harsher environmental conditions, the WRC and WRX versions offer enhanced protection against exposure to the elements.
