The JBL Professional PD6212/95-WH is a 300W passive 2-way horn-loaded loudspeaker that delivers exceptional sound quality and performance for a variety of professional audio applications. Featuring a 12-inch low-frequency driver and a high-frequency compression driver, the PD6212/95-WH is engineered for environments requiring high output and precise pattern control. This loudspeaker is part of JBL's Precision Directivity series, providing a 90° x 50° coverage pattern that ensures uniform sound distribution, making it suitable for large venues and installations requiring wide coverage and high SPL levels. The PD6212/95-WH comes in a sleek white finish, ideal for environments where aesthetics are equally important as performance.
At the core of the PD6212/95-WH is the M222-8A, a 300 mm (12 in) horn-loaded low-frequency transducer that offers high sensitivity and low power compression, delivering an impressive continuous SPL capability. The horn-loaded design increases efficiency, providing greater output and improved pattern control, ensuring sound clarity and consistency across the venue. A newly designed low-frequency phasing plug extends the frequency response, which results in a smoother transition between the low and high frequencies, enhancing the overall tonal balance and improving the loudspeaker's performance in a variety of settings.
The high-frequency performance of the PD6212/95-WH is powered by the 2453H large-format compression driver, which features a neodymium magnet and a pure titanium diaphragm. This combination allows the driver to deliver clear, intelligible high-frequency projection, even at high SPL levels. The high-frequency driver extends the speaker's frequency range, providing excellent intelligibility and low distortion, ensuring that high-pitched sounds remain crisp and clear, even in challenging acoustic environments. The large PT Progressive Transition waveguides further enhance the sound quality by achieving a balanced combination of well-controlled coverage, low distortion, and a smooth frequency response.
Another standout feature of the PD6212/95-WH is its rotatable low- and high-frequency waveguides, which allow the loudspeaker to be oriented either horizontally or vertically depending on the needs of the installation. This versatility ensures the speaker can be used in a variety of setups, making it ideal for both fixed installations and portable sound reinforcement applications. The loudspeaker also includes a sophisticated, steep-slope passive crossover network that minimizes band overlap, ensuring a clean, well-controlled off-axis response. This feature also enhances arrayability when multiple speakers are used together in a larger sound system.
With a frequency range of 80 Hz to 18 kHz and a frequency response of 90 Hz to 16 kHz, the PD6212/95-WH is engineered to provide full-range sound coverage, with particular emphasis on mid-high frequencies. In bi-amplified mode, the low-frequency driver can reach up to 134 dB-SPL continuous average (140 dB peak), and the high-frequency driver can achieve up to 133 dB-SPL continuous average (139 dB peak), making the speaker suitable for high-output sound reinforcement in medium to large venues. In passive mode, the speaker still provides an impressive 131 dB-SPL continuous average (137 dB peak). With a system sensitivity of 106 dB-SPL (1W @ 1m) in passive mode, the PD6212/95-WH ensures loud and clear sound coverage with minimal distortion.
Constructed from durable 16 mm (5/8 in) exterior-grade 11-ply Finnish birch plywood, the enclosure of the PD6212/95-WH is built to withstand the rigors of professional use while providing optimal acoustic performance. The trapezoidal enclosure features a 15-degree side angle design, allowing for better sound dispersion. The speaker is fitted with 20 M10 threaded suspension points, allowing for easy installation and secure mounting in a wide variety of settings. The speaker is also weather-resistant with an IP-X3 rating, making it suitable for use in outdoor or semi-exposed environments where it is sheltered from direct exposure to the elements. For even higher environmental protection, the PD6212/95-WH is available in optional weather-resistant configurations (WRC and WRX versions).
Additional features include Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors and CE-compliant covered barrier strip terminals for flexible hookup options. The powder-coated 14-gauge perforated steel grille, along with acoustically transparent foam backing, provides protection while maintaining clear sound output. The PD6212/95-WH is also compatible with a range of optional accessories, including M10 x 35 mm forged shoulder steel eyebolts for secure suspension (sold separately).
