The JBL Professional VTX A12 is a next-generation line array loudspeaker designed to provide exceptional sound performance and versatility in mid- to large-size touring applications and high-end fixed installations. Engineered for rental companies, installation houses, front-of-house (FOH) engineers, and touring production crews, the VTX A12 brings together JBL's most advanced transducer technologies and innovative design features into a compact, lightweight solution. The system is ideal for venues that require powerful and high-quality sound reinforcement without the long-throw capabilities of larger line-array systems, such as JBL's VERTEC series.
At the heart of the VTX A12 is JBL's cutting-edge transducer technology. The high-frequency (HF) section integrates three JBL 2432K compression drivers, each featuring a 2-inch diameter annular diaphragm and a 2-inch voice coil. This new design improves high sensitivity and linearity, delivering clear, distortion-free sound even at high output levels. The VTX A12 also incorporates JBL's redesigned Radiation Boundary Integrator (RBI) that combines four 5.5-inch mid-frequency drivers into a continuous high-frequency waveguide. This integration reduces horn edge diffraction, improving LF sensitivity, reducing distortion, and providing a wide 90-degree horizontal coverage down to 250 Hz.
The low-frequency (LF) section of the VTX A12 features dual JBL 2264H 12-inch woofers equipped with JBL's patented Differential Drive technology. This innovative woofer design incorporates dual magnets and dual voice coils, which increases the excursion capabilities, power handling, and overall sensitivity of the driver. The VTX A12's woofer is optimized for high output levels, ensuring powerful, clean bass reproduction across a broad frequency range. With the combination of advanced transducer designs and the efficient waveguide system, the VTX A12 delivers superior audio performance with a frequency range from 46 Hz to 19 kHz.
The VTX A12's compact design and optimized rigging system make it ideal for fast setup and deployment. Its high-quality, impact-resistant DuraFlex black finish ensures that it can withstand the rigors of touring while maintaining its aesthetic appeal. The patented auto-locking rigging system allows for quick and easy angle selection before suspending the array. This system locks the angles automatically once the system is raised, streamlining deployment and ensuring consistency. The VTX A12 can be suspended as part of a vertical array of up to five cabinets, with inter-enclosure angles that can be adjusted between 0.25 to 10 degrees, allowing for precise control over the array's vertical coverage.
The VTX A12 is also designed for versatility in various installation scenarios. With an IP55 rating for weather resistance, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The speaker features a full-face grille made from 14-gauge hex-perforated steel with acoustically transparent cloth backing, ensuring that it can handle the elements while providing robust protection to the transducers. Integrated recessed handles allow for easy transportation and handling of the system.
For optimal sound performance and ease of setup, the VTX A12 includes Neutrik speakON NL-8 connectors for reliable power and signal distribution. The system is compatible with various subwoofers, including the VRX918S and SRX718S, and features full integration with JBL system control and prediction software, enabling precise sound prediction and tuning for every application.
