At the heart of the E 2:2 is Lab Gruppen's IntelliDrive Energy Efficient Amplifier (IDEEA) technology, which is based on a proprietary Class D output stage. This advanced technology ensures high power output with low distortion, all while maintaining minimal current draw. The amplifier's energy-efficient design significantly reduces power consumption during non-operational cycles. After 20 minutes of inactivity, the E 2:2 automatically enters standby mode, drawing less than 1W of power, and instantly powers on when an input signal is detected. This helps reduce operational costs while contributing to environmental sustainability.

The E 2:2 is highly flexible, capable of driving both low impedance (2, 4, and 8 Ohms) and constant voltage (70V and 100V) loads.
