The RCF SUB 9006-AS is a high-performance, dual 18" powered subwoofer designed for professional live sound applications. Delivering an incredible 7200 watts peak power, and 3600 watts RMS, the SUB 9006-AS is one of the most powerful subwoofers available in its class. With an impressive frequency response range of 30 Hz to 400 Hz, this subwoofer is engineered to produce the deepest, clearest, and most dynamic low frequencies in even the most demanding environments. Powered by an advanced Class-D digital amplifier, it delivers exceptional transient response and minimal distortion, ensuring an immersive low-end experience for any event, from large concerts to installations in complex spaces.
At the core of the SUB 9006-AS are two 18" neodymium woofers, each equipped with a 4.0" inside/outside voice coil for efficient cooling and optimal performance. The woofers are housed in separate acoustic chambers to enhance clarity and minimize distortion, and are reinforced with a carbon fiber, fiberglass, and cellulose pulp cone material for improved robustness and rigidity. This specially designed cone helps to avoid deformation and ensures high efficiency, allowing the subwoofer to perform under heavy loads without sacrificing sound quality. The integrated Hyper Ventilation system reduces power compression, allowing the subwoofer to produce consistent, clean bass even during extended periods of high output.
The SUB 9006-AS features RCF's proprietary DSP-controlled input section with selectable presets, delay control, and other advanced features, all accessible through the RDNet networked management platform. RDNet allows real-time control and monitoring of each connected device in the system, with the ability to adjust parameters such as EQ, gain, phase, and output delay. This makes it easy to tailor the system to the specific needs of any venue or event. The DSP section includes both soft clipping limiters and RMS protection, ensuring reliable operation while maintaining the integrity of the sound. The user-friendly control panel on the rear of the unit offers quick adjustments to input sensitivity, low cut filters, crossover settings, and more, while RDNet provides additional control options via the network for more complex setups.
Designed with durability in mind, the SUB 9006-AS is housed in a rugged Baltic birch plywood cabinet with a weatherproof finish, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor events. The cabinet features a heavily braced internal structure and separate housing for the amplifier, ensuring maximum component efficiency and protection. The subwoofer is designed for easy setup and transportation, with eight ergonomic aluminum handles (four on each side) and a detachable dolly caster-board with rugged tour-grade casters and a rotating cam mechanism. The front grille is powder-coated for durability, and incorporates a transparent-to-sound foam backing to protect the transducers from dust and debris.
Compatible with the RCF HDL 50-A and HDL 10-A array systems, the SUB 9006-AS can be used in stacked configurations or as part of a flown system, with mounting options designed for quick setup and flexible placement. The subwoofer features two M20 pole mounts for additional versatility, and is compatible with a wide range of audio setups and sound system designs. Whether used for live performances, installations, or AV rentals, the SUB 9006-AS delivers the low-frequency impact needed to elevate any audio experience.
