The high frequencies are managed by an annular polymer diaphragm compression driver, which incorporates a best-in-class 3-inch voice coil coupled with a 1.5-inch throat opening. This compression driver, powered by a neodymium magnet, delivers lightweight, efficient, and powerful performance, ensuring very high power levels with reduced distortion and enhanced phase coherence. This translates to crisp, clear, and accurate high frequencies, perfect for complex audio details such as vocals and instruments.

For the low frequencies, the SRX835P uses a 15-inch woofer equipped with JBL's patented Differential Drive Technology, which reduces weight while maximizing power amplifier efficiency. The dual ferrite drivers and 3-inch voice coils produce exceptionally low distortion and an extended low-frequency response, ensuring a powerful and clean bass output. Additionally, the SRX835P's midrange driver is derived from JBL's VTX 20 touring line array system. The driver's cast aluminum frame not only acts as the structural support but also serves as an acoustic cavity and heat sink, improving both space optimization within the speaker and performance under high-output conditions.

The SRX835P integrates a full suite of user-configurable digital signal processing (DSP) for precise sound tuning. It includes 20 parametric equalizers (PEQs), 2 seconds of delay, signal generators, input mixing, amplifier monitoring, and 50 slots for recallable presets, including 6 JBL-engineered application presets. This DSP suite enables users to fine-tune the speaker for different environments and performance needs. The system also features 96kHz FIR filters and LevelMax Limiting for optimal audio processing and compatibility with JBL's flagship Vertec and VTX touring systems. It is fully integrated into Harman's Audio Architect, and it supports control via a standalone application for iOS and Android. Wired control is possible via an Ethercon connector, while wireless control is enabled using a standard off-the-shelf wireless router.
