The Soundcraft FX16ii is a versatile 16-channel analog mixing console designed for both live sound and recording environments. Featuring powerful built-in Lexicon effects and 16 direct outputs, the FX16ii offers professional-level performance in a compact and rugged frame. This mixer is an upgraded version of the original Spirit FX16, incorporating the latest digital processing technology for enhanced audio quality and usability. The FX16ii's range of features makes it ideal for small to mid-sized venues, project studios, and multi-track recording setups.

At the heart of the FX16ii is a 24-bit Lexicon digital effects processor, utilizing the same AudioDNA processor found in high-end Digitech and Lexicon outboard equipment, such as the renowned Lexicon MX400. This ensures top-tier reverb and effects processing at an accessible price point. With 32 editable effects presets, including a range of reverbs, delays, and modulation effects, users can tailor the sound to their specific needs. The effects section also includes a tap tempo function, three adjustable parameter controls, a clip LED, and a user settings store function, providing flexibility for both live and studio applications.

The FX16ii is designed for seamless integration into multi-track recording setups. Each of the 16 mono microphone channels includes a direct output, which is individually switchable between pre-fader and post-fader operation, making it perfect for 16-track recording systems. The mixer's architecture also includes 4 stereo returns and a 4-bus output system, allowing for additional routing and sub-grouping capabilities. With its flexible routing options, the FX16ii excels in capturing live performances while simultaneously providing studio-quality processing.

The console's layout features Soundcraft's signature 3-band EQ with a swept mid-band on each mono input channel, allowing precise tonal shaping. A high-pass filter at 100Hz is included on the stereo inputs to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise. Inserts on all mono channels and the stereo mix output enable easy integration of outboard processing gear, making the FX16ii a highly adaptable tool for any mixing environment.

Further enhancing its versatility, the FX16ii can be rack-mounted in a 10U space, thanks to its rotating connector pod. This feature allows for convenient cable connections at the rear of the rack, saving valuable rack space. The console is equipped with dual global +48V phantom power, split between channels 1-8 and 9-16, making it compatible with a variety of condenser microphones.

The FX16ii also features channel mute controls, 10-segment tri-colored LED metering, two sub-group outputs, and a separate mono sum output, giving users full control over their mix. The console is powered by an integral universal power supply, ensuring reliable performance in any location.

With its durable construction, intuitive layout, and extensive feature set, the Soundcraft FX16ii is a highly capable mixing console suited for both live sound engineers and studio professionals. Its powerful Lexicon effects and multi-track recording capabilities make it a standout choice in its class, providing exceptional audio performance and flexibility.
