The Soundcraft GB2-16 is a 16-channel analog mixing console designed to meet the needs of installed sound and audio-visual applications that do not require the extensive features of larger models like the GB4 or GB8. However, the GB2-16 still delivers exceptional audio performance and versatility through its compact design, incorporating the highly regarded GB30 Mic Preamp and GB30 Equalizer circuits. This mixer is ideal for smaller venues, performance spaces, or AV setups requiring a straightforward and reliable mixing solution without sacrificing sound quality.

The GB2-16 features a total of 16 mono input channels, each equipped with high-performance GB30 mic preamps designed by Graham Blyth for Soundcraft's 30th anniversary. These preamps provide wide gain control and superior headroom, ensuring clean and transparent sound capture, even at high input levels. Each mono channel also includes a 4-band GB30 EQ section with two sweepable mid-range frequencies, allowing precise tonal shaping to fit a wide range of audio applications. The mixer also includes two stereo inputs, each with separate mic and line inputs, offering additional flexibility for connecting a variety of sources, such as playback devices or external effects.

One of the standout features of the Soundcraft GB2-16 is its 6x2 output matrix, which provides advanced routing options for complex setups. This matrix allows you to route audio signals to multiple output destinations with ease, making it perfect for scenarios where multiple speaker zones or recording outputs are required. Additionally, the mixer features 6 auxiliary sends, providing extensive routing options for monitor mixes, effects sends, or other external processing devices. The GB2-16 also includes 4 subgroups arranged as two stereo pairs, which offer a unique stereo width control, allowing you to adjust the stereo separation of the subgroups independently from the main mix. This feature provides greater control over how stereo signals are distributed across the stereo field, giving you the flexibility to create a cohesive mix while retaining the natural panning of individual channels.

The GB2-16 includes individually switchable +48V phantom power on every input channel, making it compatible with a wide range of condenser microphones. Direct outputs on all mono channels allow for easy multitrack recording or integration with external processors. The mixer's intuitive layout and operational simplicity are consistent with Soundcraft's professional range, making it easy to use for both experienced engineers and newcomers. The sturdy design of the GB2-16 ensures reliability in demanding environments, with all-metal TRS jacks and Neutrik XLR connectors, as well as an internal power supply for hassle-free setup.

The GB2-16 also offers smooth and accurate level control with its 100mm faders, and the console's comprehensive solo system enables quick and efficient monitoring of individual channels. The 10-segment LED metering on the output section ensures precise level monitoring, allowing users to keep a close eye on audio levels during live performances or recordings.

With its high-quality build, excellent sound performance, and extensive routing capabilities, the Soundcraft GB2-16 is an excellent choice for smaller installations, AV systems, and venues requiring a versatile and reliable mixing console that can handle a variety of audio sources and outputs.
