The GB4-40 includes 40 mono input channels, each equipped with high-performance GB30 mic preamps, providing excellent headroom and low noise, with individually switched 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. Each channel features the renowned GB30 4-band EQ with sweepable high-mid and low-mid bands, allowing for precise tonal adjustments to shape the sound. In addition to the mono inputs, the console has two stereo input channels, further expanding the versatility of the mixer.

Routing flexibility is a standout feature of the GB4-40, with 8 auxiliary sends that can be used for monitor mixes or effects sends, and 4 subgroups configured as stereo pairs. A unique feature of the console is the ability to adjust the stereo width of the subgroup signals independently of the mix, giving users control over the spatial characteristics of the audio.
