The VX 8.2 utilizes Tannoy's constant directivity Dual Concentric driver technology, which features a 200 mm (8") full-range driver that ensures phase coherence across the entire frequency spectrum. This innovative design allows for high sensitivity, exceptional efficiency, and improved low-mid extension, providing enhanced bass response and a broader frequency range for clearer, more balanced sound. With a precise 90° horizontal dispersion and 90° vertical dispersion, the VX 8.2 delivers optimum coverage, ensuring sound is evenly distributed over the listening area with excellent forward gain.

Designed for flexibility, the VX 8.2's trapezoidal enclosure allows for multiple placement options, making it suitable for a wide range of applications such as installed performance sound reinforcement, floor monitoring, or delay and side-fill systems. It can be easily mounted atop a subwoofer using the provided blanking plate for VTH pole mounting, while optional high-performance steel mounting hardware (sold separately) allows for wall and ceiling installations, as well as horizontal and vertical mounting options. The speaker's construction features 15 mm (5/8") plywood, vented and internally braced for added durability and superior sound quality, while the rugged powder-coated perforated steel mesh grille protects the speaker during use and transport.

The VX 8.2 also integrates Neutrik speakON NL4 and barrier strip connectors, providing secure and reliable input and link connections to additional enclosures. It is optimized for use with amplifiers and controllers, and a full range of DSP settings for various configurations is available for download at Tannoy's website, making it easy to tailor the speaker's performance to specific needs.
