The Turbosound TLX84 is a high-performance 2-way full-range line array element designed for a wide range of portable, fixed, and touring audio systems. With its bi-amplified dual 8" low-frequency drivers and dual 1" titanium dome compression drivers, the TLX84 delivers exceptional clarity, intelligibility, and consistent coverage, making it ideal for speech and music sound reinforcement applications. Whether used in front-of-house (FOH), center cluster, offstage fill, stereo in-fill, or distributed fill applications, the TLX84 provides reliable and high-quality audio output.
The TLX84 features two 8" low-frequency drivers with weather-resistant cones, ensuring the system can perform reliably in various environmental conditions. These drivers are paired with two 1" titanium dome copper-clad aluminium coil compression drivers that contribute to the speaker's outstanding high-frequency performance. The bi-amplified operation allows for efficient power distribution between the low and high-frequency components, delivering both high output and controlled dispersion. This ensures optimal audio performance even in larger spaces.
Designed for versatility, the TLX84 offers a wide 100° horizontal by 10° vertical dispersion pattern. This wide coverage makes it perfect for use in larger rooms or venues, providing even sound distribution across the listening area. The TLX84 can be used in combination with the TLX215L dual 15" subwoofer to provide extended low-frequency extension and enhance its performance in more demanding sound reinforcement situations.
To ensure seamless integration into various venues and applications, the TLX84 is equipped with an integral suspension system that meets BGV-C1 specifications for safety and reliability. The system also includes multiple rigging points for efficient suspension or ground stacking, with a 10:1 safety factor. Custom-engineered flybars and road cases are available as separate accessories to facilitate quick and easy deployment in both portable and permanent installations. For ease of use, the TLX84's rear panel features Neutrik speakON NL4 connectors for secure, long-lasting connections, and EASE GLL files are available for precise acoustic simulation and planning.
The TLX84 is built with durability in mind. The enclosure is constructed from 15 mm (5/8") birch plywood with a semi-matt black paint finish, providing a rugged and professional look that can withstand the demands of live events and touring. The powder-coated perforated steel grille, backed with reticulated foam, protects the drivers from damage while ensuring optimal sound transmission.
