The BSS Audio BLU-BOB1 is an 8-channel analog break-out box designed to expand the audio output capabilities of a Soundweb London system. By utilizing the high bandwidth, fault-tolerant digital audio bus known as BLU link, the BLU-BOB1 seamlessly integrates with other Soundweb London devices to provide reliable and high-quality audio output. This versatile device is ideal for applications requiring additional analog audio outputs, making it an essential component in large-scale and complex audio systems.

The BLU-BOB1 connects to the BLU link digital audio bus, which supports up to 256 channels of audio. This low-latency, fault-tolerant bus uses standard Category 5e cabling for connections up to 100 meters between compatible devices. For even greater distances, the BSS Audio MC-1 fiber optic media converter can extend the connection range to over 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) using single-mode fiber, ensuring flexibility in large installations.

Configuring the output channels of the BLU-BOB1 is simple and straightforward, thanks to six DIP switches located on the rear panel. These switches allow the user to select consecutive 8-channel ranges within the 256 available channels on the BLU link bus. This configuration method is efficient and ds not require the use of HiQnet Audio Architect, streamlining setup and minimizing complexity. Output channel assignments are handled exclusively through the DIP switches, making deployment quick and intuitive.

The BLU-BOB1 features eight analog line-level outputs, which use standard terminal block connectors compatible with other Soundweb London devices. Front panel LEDs provide clear indication of signal presence and power status, ensuring that the device is operating correctly at a glance. The BLU-BOB1 is housed in a half-rack width chassis, which can be desk-mounted or wall-mounted using the included brackets. The device is powered by an included 12V DC adapter, making it easy to integrate into any system setup.

In addition to the BLU-BOB1, a 19-inch rack-mount version known as the BLU-BOB2 is also available. This version features identical front panel indications and rear panel connections, but comes equipped with mounting ears for installation in standard equipment racks. Both versions of the BLU-BOB offer the same robust performance and flexible configuration options.

The BSS Audio BLU-BOB1, along with the other members of the Soundweb London family, provides the building blocks for creating a perfectly tailored and scalable audio system solution. Whether used in a desk, wall, or rack-mounted configuration, the BLU-BOB1 ensures that your audio outputs are delivered with precision and reliability.
